Members should request a card when they are laid-off, leave the craft or will be out of work for a lenghty period of time.  IT IS THE MEMBERS RESPONSIBILITY TO CONTACT THE UNION FOR A CARD, NO ONE ELSES. Failure to get a card in these situations will result in a suspension from the union and will make the member responsible for a reinitiation fee plus any back dues accrued during this time.
